When a customer has two active MDNs of different providers and, the customer wants to port their one active MDN into another provider, we follow the process mentioned below-
Step 1- Create a new portin request
Location: Customer Profile >> Quick Links >> Existing Subscriber Portin (PC343)
Below we can see the New Subscriber Portin Request form which needs to be filled with all the required information-
Case-1
If you select the 'Swap type' as 'Complete swap as soon as a port-in completes.'
The port-in request will be initiated and sent to the carrier. As soon as we get a response from the carrier, the port process will be completed.
These requests will be displayed under Ports (PC393) >> Port In (PC799) >> Pending Portin (PC394)
Case 2-
If we select “Swap type” as “Do not complete Swap immediately.”
The request will go in a queue instead of going to the carrier instantly. Then agents will have to manually process the port request. After manually processing the request, it will go to the carrier.
Nowadays, this is not in use and is for those situations where a customer does not want their port to be completed instantly and only wants to make a port-in request.
These port requests will be displayed under Ports (PC393) >> Port In (PC799) > Pending Portin Swaps (PC343)
