Existing Subscriber Port-In
1. Navigating to Existing Subscriber Port-In
To initiate a port-in request for an active customer:
- Access the Customer Profile: Open the customer's account dashboard.
- Locate Quick Links: Look at the right-hand panel labeled Quick Links.
- Select the Module: Scroll down and click on Existing Subscriber Portin (PC343)..
2. Completing the Port-In Request Form
Once the module opens, fill out the Create new port-in request form using the customer's current carrier and transfer details:
- Carrier & Phone Info: Verify the pre-filled Carrier and enter the customer's Phone number and SIM details.
- Port-In with Carrier Change: Choose whether this port involves a carrier change (Options: Yes / No).
- Device & Plan Details: Enter the New SIM, check IS eSIM if applicable, ensure the prefilled plan is correct, and choose the Old SIM status.
- Portability Check: Enter the Number to port and click Check portability to ensure the number is eligible.
- Previous Account Verification: Input the mandatory billing and security credentials from the losing carrier, including Account number and Password PIN (also known as “transfer pin,” this is obtained from the losing carrier).
- Billing Details: Verify the prefilled customer information, including Bill First name, Bill Last name, and the complete service address (ZIP, City, State, Address).
- Swap Type: Select the appropriate swap preference from the dropdown menu (Option: Complete swap as soon as port-in completes OR Do not complete Swap Immediately).
- Submission: Review all entered details for accuracy, then click the blue Submit button at the bottom right.
Case-1
If you select the 'Swap type' as 'Complete swap as soon as a port-in completes.'
The port-in request will be initiated and sent to the carrier. As soon as we get a response from the carrier, the port process will be completed.
These requests will be displayed under Ports (PC393) >> Port In (PC799) >> Pending Portin (PC394)
Case 2-
If we select “Swap type” as “Do not complete Swap immediately.”
The request will go in a queue instead of going to the carrier instantly. Then agents will have to manually process the port request. After manually processing the request, it will go to the carrier.
Typically, this is not in use and is for those situations where a customer does not want their port to be completed instantly and only wants to make a port-in request.
These port requests will be displayed under Ports (PC393) >> Port In (PC799) > Pending Portin Swaps (PC343)
