Resolving Stuck Network Profiles / Previous Carrier Display
If a customer’s phone displays their previous carrier name or fails to load data after activation, it means the device is holding onto old network configurations.
- Step 1: Power Cycling: Power cycling forces the phone's network to reset. This should be your first troubleshooting step after any account update or change.
- Step 2: Network Settings Reset: Guide the customer to reset their phone's network configuration directly in the device's Mobile Network Settings.
- Step 3: Full Device Restart: Completely turn the phone off and back on. Once powered back up, it should automatically connect to the correct network and data should be active.
iPhone iMessage Re-registration
When an iPhone user switches carriers, Apple requires the phone number to be re-registered to prevent messaging errors.
- Resolution Steps:
- Toggle iMessage off, then back on.
- Navigate to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
- Select the customer's correct phone number to tie it back to iMessage properly.
Manual eSIM Activation Guide
If a customer needs to manually enter an LPA activation code for an eSIM, follow this navigation path:
- Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Service).
- Tap Add eSIM > Use QR Code.
- Tap Enter Details Manually at the bottom of the screen.
- Parse the LPA String: Break down your LPA:1$ string into the separate SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code fields.
- Confirmation Code: Leave the confirmation code field blank (no code is needed).
- Note: As long as the device accepts multiple SIMs, customers can use multiple eSIM profiles from different carriers simultaneously.
Hardware and IMEI Integrity
- IMEI Matching Rule: The Device ID (IMEI) registered in Telgoo5 must match the physical IMEI on the customer's device. A mismatch will cause immediate service and connectivity issues.
APN Settings
- Blueconnects APN Settings: Android devices only. Whenever a customer reports no data connectivity or failing MMS/group texts after a successful SIM activation or carrier switch, checking and updating the APN settings should be one of your primary troubleshooting steps.
